Dawson City August 5-8 there were 5 forest fires going on at the time - 4 in Alaska, and 1 near Stewart Crossing, where I was the night before. High Speed Catamaran trip to Juneau on the Fjord Express & Juneau August 14, 2002 I saw about 10 whales on this trip, a few porpoises, and a few bald eagles. Saw whales breeching.. playing.. You'll have to take my word for it.	trapped on a bus with old people	McDonald's "would you like rice with that?"	outside the ferry docks - touist trap..	downtown Juneau

Drive back to Whitehorse August 15, 2002	road out of skagway, into the mountains	bridge .. looking back to where I'd just come from	Carcross desert .. "smallest desert in the world". I did a skidding stop on the shoulder and backed up.	Carcross desert .. yes, that's my footprint from when I ran away from teh camera after setting the timer..
